Living With a Brain Injury
Living with a brain-injury is very hard for a person to live with even when that person had got their Brain injury as a very, very, little kid like me. My name is George Arlomarndo Russo, and I was two in a half year old when I had my brain injury In the year of nine-teen seventy- one. I was playing in my neighbor's yard when I had lived in Tewksbury and a guy was hurrying to his house in his car to feed his eight kids and he didn't see me playing and I have got hit in my head hard and then the impact had thrown me in an oak tree. Then I was driven to a hospital where I had laid for ten weeks, I was hit in the left hemisphere of my brain which effects the right limbs of my body and I don't have much feeling on my right side especially on my right arm because some of my nerves are still damage from when I was hit from a speeding car When I was little, I had just the use of the left limbs of my body. Because I wasn't able to use both of my limbs like my brother and sister could or parents either. And my parents had never heard the word head injury before Until they were watching channel 2 and they heard a guy saying if your son or daughter are disable he or she have Several Pasley I could still remember watching my father on our television on the united several Palsy Telethons. It was so hard for me to go to a Library with my disability to read anything. Because the Library was too far for me to walk from the house that I use the live at on thirty-eight dexter street Medford, Plus I could only use a four-prong cane for walking a I have to admit that I did not have very good balance either. Because when I would walk with my four-prong cane I would always lean on my left side of my body like my left leg is very, very, strong and the toes on my foot could curled and point down to the and when I do began to lose my balance I could point me left toes and I could press my left foot down to the ground automatically Now when I had turn on me computer and I go to the home Facebook page I could read a lot of information about brain injury. I still have a scare in the middle of my neck from a Tracia that I show some people, and I show that I have got a weak right eye too. But thanks God that I had a very, very, strong left arm and a very, very, strong leg too. When I am sitting in my wheelchair, I would just pull my wheelchair with my very, very, strong left leg and my foot too. When I am pulling my wheelchair with my very, strong left foot then I can move my wheelchair with my right foot my right foot too. going to dunking donuts restaurant, I drive my four black wheels bright red motor scooter I use one hand to control it and that is my very, vary, strong left arm and left hand too. There are tiny bars on both side of your steering wheel of the motors scooter if you pull the bar backwards you are going forward, if you are pushing it forwards, you are going backward. If I am just sitting on the floor with both of my legs straight out, then when I get up it is going to be so hard for me Because I could not bend my right leg. When I am at my group house at the McLaughlin, house I have got a bedroom, just by myself. if I accidently fell on the floor and land on my but then it would be so, so, hard to get back up because I only have one strong arm and one strong leg some time I would have to yell because another staff person would shut my bedroom door. Most of the time I would yell so loud that I would strain my voice and when I would try to get up would fall back down again and that is still not good and not right either. They do not know what I could feel and what I cannot feel. Some staffs say to me hurry up when they could use two good legs and two good arms too, they don't only have the use of one hand and only one foot like I do and they don't struggle every day like I do either. On June fourteenth ,2026 a male staff person had walked into my bedroom, at seven o'clock in the morning. So, I had to wake up from my sleep on my big dark brown recliner chair. Then the staff person had gave me a nice warm shower with washing me with a wet face cloth and some liquid soap too. Then he had dried my body off and then he had put my yellow shorts on and my what stripped short sleeve shirt too. Then I had wheel out my bedroom door to eat my honey bunches of oats cereal and I had drunk a cup of warm coffee too. So, later the guy named Joe, had drove in the driveway in the great big write van he had drove to the McLaughlin, house to drive me George, and to other residents to church at Calvery Christian church and there were a lot of people there too everybody was singing and clapping their hands and ten people was playing different instruments. Like two people that was stand on the stage was playing the guitars on was playing the synopsizes and on was the drums and four people that was stand hold microphones was singing spiritual songs
